Kerry FC Release Randriamamy and Maroodza Amid “Values” Concerns

Kerry FC has announced the immediate release of goalkeeper Mathyas Randriamamy and defender Shane Maroodza, citing a mismatch in values and principles.

The unexpected move comes just days after both players were introduced to the squad, prompting speculation and questions from fans and commentators alike.

In a brief and now-deleted statement, the club explained that “their values and principles didn’t match the standards of the club.” No further details were provided, and comments on the announcement were reportedly disabled before its removal from official channels.

Randriamamy, a former PSG academy prospect who joined Kerry FC earlier in the season, had only made a single appearance for the team.

Maroodza, who recently arrived from Huddersfield’s youth system and has represented Zimbabwe at international level, also featured just once — in a 3-0 defeat to UCD — before his release was confirmed.

Manager Colin Healy had previously spoken positively about Maroodza, praising his attitude and experience. The abrupt reversal has raised eyebrows, particularly given the timing of the release and the lack of transparency surrounding the situation.

While the club has not confirmed any disciplinary issues, rumours have circulated among supporters regarding off-field conduct. Unverified reports suggest an incident may have occurred involving both players, though no official sources have corroborated these claims.

Kerry FC is reportedly preparing to announce at least one new signing in the coming days, as the club looks to reinforce its squad ahead of Friday’s fixture against Athlone.

With first-team defender Niall Brookwell still serving a suspension, the sudden loss of two players leaves gaps in both the defensive line and goalkeeping department.

This latest development underscores a period of turbulence at the club as it seeks to rebuild and maintain discipline. Whether these changes will have a stabilizing effect remains to be seen.
